Bees and Beetles started out as a small neighborhood greenhouse business with a focus
on herbs. Out of an excess of herbs, the herbal products grew. Eventually, it
became necessary to add a small shop to house the herbal products. It was then
just a step away from adding other garden items such as garden flags, stakes,
suncatchers, windchimes, birdhouses, birdfood, garden hand tools, bulbs, and
many other things that are useful and at home in a garden. Recently, we have added other
items, such as handcrafted jewelry, pottery, postcards, Lake Anna T-shirts, Polos, Sweatshirts, ballcaps,
and more.
Landscape Services
In 2006, we began our landscaping service. Unique in our concept, we do not charge our customers for our
design work so long as the plant material is purchased from us.
The Way It Works. We visit
the area to be landscaped, take pictures, discuss the customers plant likes and dislikes, then use the pictures
to form the background of our design. Using our computer landscape design software, we load the photos and place
shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals, hardscape, etc. according to the design we have worked up for that customer.
When completed, it is printed and presented to the customer for review. Customers are able to see exactly how
the mature plants will look against the background of their home. We offer several work plans and will happily
work with a customer who wants to do the planting themselves. Call us for a free estimate.
We continue to grow and change our product line, particularly our bath products.
So check us out often to see what's new. To reach us to check on an order
